President Joe Biden said in an interview Thursday he would not pardon his son, Hunter Biden, if he’s found guilty of criminal federal gun charges.

When asked by interviewer David Muir of ABC if he would rule out pardoning Hunter Biden, the president said, ā€œYes.ā€

He also affirmed he would accept the outcome of the trial, currently underway in Delaware.

The courtroom proceedings have delved into a painful moment for the Biden family, as Hunter was struggling with drug addiction in the aftermath of his brother Beau’s death.

Former President Donald Trump suggested he would pardon Julian Assange, the activist behind Wikileaks.

When asked on the podcast TimcastIRL before Trump’s speech at the Libertarian convention Saturday if he would pardon Assange if he won a second term in the Oval Office, Trump said the decision was in ā€œvery serious consideration.ā€

Garrett Foster's family is speaking out about the Gov. Abbott's decision to pardon Daniel Perry, who was convicted of murder after a 2020 Black Lives Matter protest in Austin.

"I think they're using my dead child to make a political statement," said Garrett's mother, Sheila Foster.

Her heart still aches nearly four years after losing her son.

Garrett was a 28-year-old Air Force veteran when he joined Black Lives Matter protesters in Downtown Austin in the summer of 2020, along with his fiancĆ© Tiffany.

The father of a North Texas native killed during an Austin protest in 2020 criticized Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s full pardon for the man convicted of murder in the case.

Abbott announced the pardon just minutes after the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles disclosed it had made a unanimous recommendation that Daniel Perry be pardoned and have his firearms rights restored, The Associated Press reported.

Perry has been held in state prison on a 25-year sentence since his 2023 conviction for fatally shooting Garrett Foster.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott issued a pardon to U.S. Army Sergeant Daniel Perry, citing the state’s Stand Your Ground laws and the right of self-defense. Perry was convicted by a Travis County court in April 2023 for shooting and killing Garret Foster during a Black Lives Matter protest.

ā€œTexas has one of the strongest ā€˜Stand Your Ground’ laws of self-defense that cannot be nullified by a jury or a progressive District Attorney,ā€ Abbott said in a written statement on Thursday.

Tens of thousands of people in Hungary have protested following a presidential pardon in a child sexual abuse case that has shocked the nation.

Demonstrators packed the historic Heroes' Square in the capital Budapest in solidarity with abuse victims.

President Katalin Novak and two senior figures in Prime Minister Viktor Orban's ruling Fidesz party last week resigned over the controversial pardon.

Separately, a bishop who advised the right-wing PM has now also quit.

Former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley says that she would pardon former President Donald Trump if he's convicted of a crime and she becomes president.

Haley, when questioned Thursday by a 9-year-old boy at a New Hampshire campaign event, said she would pardon Trump "in the best interests of the country."

"I would pardon Trump … if he is found guilty," Haley said, NBC News reported. "A leader needs to think about what's in the best interest of the country.

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said Thursday that President Biden will not pardon his son Hunter.

Jean-Pierre was adamant that troubled first son would not be granted clemency — one day after his probation-only plea deal on tax and gun charges collapsed under scrutiny by a federal judge in Delaware.

ā€œIs there any possibility that the president would end up pardoning his son?ā€ Fox News reporter Mark Meredith asked Jean-Pierre at her regular briefing.
