Six people have died after a private plane crashed into a California field and burst into flames.

The flight had left Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas and crashed near French Valley Airport in Murrieta, California, around 4:15 am Saturday, according to KTLA.

The plane burst into flames when it crashed and video from the scene showed the charge fuselage.

Washington DC area 'explosion' sound caused by military jets pursuing unresponsive plane before deadly crash

A loud noise similar to an explosion heard in the Washington, D.C., metroplex area was the sonic boom of military aircraft scrambling to catch up to a Cessna aircraft with an unresponsive pilot before it crashed, killing all four people onboard.

The city of Annapolis Office of Emergency Management reported that the boom heard on Sunday was in fact caused by an authorized Department of Defense (DOD) flight. The noise was heard in areas as far east as the Eastern Shore of Maryland and as far west as Manassas, Virginia.

The FAA has not released the cause of the crash, but the plane went down after violating airspace around Washington, D.C, according to reports.

Authorities are investigating a plane crash in Stagecoach, Nevada, that left at least five people dead, officials said.

Lyon County Sheriff's Office deputies said the aircraft was operated by Care Flight, a service of the Regional Emergency Medical Services Authority Health, headquartered in Reno. Stagecoach is about 40 miles east of Reno.

"On February 24, 2023, at approximately 09:15 p.m., the Lyon County Dispatch Center received multiple calls of a possible aircraft crash in Stagecoach, Nevada," Sheriff Brad Pope said.

Dozens killed in Nepal plane crash after aircraft plummets into river gorge

At least 68 people were killed Sunday when a plane crashed into a river gorge in Pokhara, the country's Civil Aviation Authority announced.

The plane, a Yeti Airlines flight carrying passengers out of the capital of Kathmandu, was carrying 72 passengers in total. Four remained unaccounted for as of Sunday morning.

"Half of the plane is on the hillside," a local resident who saw the site told Reuters. "The other half has fallen into the gorge of the Seti river."
