The MH17 killer has been sentenced, but not in the Netherlands, not for life, and not for the murder of 298 people.

Igor Girkin, a pro-war Russian nationalist, was instead found to be complaining too much on social media about President Vladimir Putin’s leadership of the war against Ukraine.

A court in Moscow on Thursday found Girkin guilty on charges of inciting extremism after his series of diatribes against the Russian leader appeared to go too far.

A Russian Ilyushin-76 military transport plane has crashed in the southern Belgorod region bordering Ukraine.

Russia's ministry of defence said 65 captured Ukrainian military were on the plane heading to Belgorod region for a prisoner exchange.

None of the details surrounding those on board can be independently verified.

Ria Novosti news agency said another nine people were on the plane, including six crew.

A Japan Airlines plane collided with a Japan Coast Guard aircraft while landing in Tokyo on Tuesday, causing the passenger jet to burst into flames and killing Coast Guard members on the other plane bound for earthquake relief efforts.

The airline said that all 367 passengers and 12 crew members on its plane were safely evacuated at Haneda Airport, according to NHK, the public broadcaster. Five crew members on the Coast Guard plane were killed, Prime Minister Fumio Kishida said during a news conference.

flight carrying hundreds of passengers on Tuesday caught fire on a runway at Tokyo’s Haneda airport after colliding with a Japan Coast Guard aircraft.

Citing Tokyo police, Japanese national broadcaster NHK said five of the six crew members on the Coast Guard aircraft had been confirmed dead. The pilot, who evacuated, is reportedly severely injured.

The Coast Guard aircraft was heading to Niigata to provide relief for the recent earthquake, according to initial reports.

Five U.S. service members were confirmed to have died when their military aircraft crashed over the eastern Mediterranean Sea on Saturday morning during a routine training mission, military officials said Sunday.

U.S. European Command (EUCOM) said the aircraft "suffered a mishap" and crashed into the sea during a routine air refueling mission. Search and rescue efforts began immediately, including nearby U.S. military aircraft and ships. All five service members on board the aircraft were determined to have died.

Wagner mercenary chief Yevgeny Prigozhin’s doomed private plane showed no signs of distress until a sudden drop 30 seconds before the deadly crash in Russia ā€” amid speculation that the rogue warlord’s plane may have been downed by a bomb hidden in a crate of wine.

The Embraer Legacy 600 executive jet, with Prigozhin and other senior Wagner Group members listed among the 10 passengers, made a ā€œsudden downward verticalā€ at 5:19 p.m. local time Wednesday, according to Ian Petchenik of the flight-tracking site Flightradar24.

Ukraine’s president, Volodymyr Zelenskiy, has said Kyiv had nothing to do with the presumed death of the Wagner chief, Yevgeny Prigozhin.

The Interfax-Ukraine news agency quoted Zelenskiy telling journalists on Thursday: ā€œWe had nothing to do with it. Everybody realises who has something to do with it.ā€

Six people have died after a private plane crashed into a California field and burst into flames.

The flight had left Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas and crashed near French Valley Airport in Murrieta, California, around 4:15 am Saturday, according to KTLA.

The plane burst into flames when it crashed and video from the scene showed the charge fuselage.

A loud noise similar to an explosion heard in the Washington, D.C., metroplex area was the sonic boom of military aircraft scrambling to catch up to a Cessna aircraft with an unresponsive pilot before it crashed, killing all four people onboard.

The city of Annapolis Office of Emergency Management reported that the boom heard on Sunday was in fact caused by an authorized Department of Defense (DOD) flight. The noise was heard in areas as far east as the Eastern Shore of Maryland and as far west as Manassas, Virginia.

An unresponsive pilot whose plane violated restricted airspace above the Washington, D.C. area caused the U.S. to scramble fighter jets in pursuit of the small aircraft Sunday, officials said. The pursuit caused a sonic boom heard over the capital.

The civilian aircraft later crashed into mountainous terrain in southwest Virginia, officials said. Police confirmed later Sunday night there were no survivors, but did not know how many people were on board.
