Since South Carolina passed its fetal heartbeat abortion ban in 2021, the issue has been in the public spotlight either through court challenges or legislative attempts to strengthen its provisions. That will not change in 2025 as two Supreme Courts and the General Assembly all have abortion-related items on their agendas. The U.S. Supreme Court announced Wednesday it will take up Kerr vs. Planned Parenthood, a case involving South Carolina’s cutting off Medicaid funding from Planned Parenthood, specifically whether Medicaid patients can sue for their own qualified providers.

The Supreme Court on Wednesday agreed to take up South Carolina’s effort to cut off Medicaid funding to Planned Parenthood because it performs abortions. South Carolina moved in 2018 to cut off funding to Planned Parenthood, which uses the money for family planning rather than abortions. Medicaid does not pay for abortion except in cases when a pregnant woman’s life is at risk, or the pregnancy is the result of rape or incest. The organization has said it gets less than $100,000 in South Carolina, one of many conservative states...

The U.S. Supreme Court will hear a contentious case involving South Carolina’s effort to bar Medicaid funds from going to Planned Parenthood. The case could be another major landmark in the debate over abortion. The dispute began in 2018 when Gov. Henry McMaster issued an executive order preventing Medicaid funding for Planned Parenthood.

The Supreme Court on Wednesday agreed to hear a case that could determine the future of government funding for abortion provider Planned Parenthood. The case, Kerr v. Planned Parenthood South Atlantic, arose after Gov. Henry McMaster (R-SC) in 2018 declared by executive order that abortion clinics were unqualified to receive Medicaid funding. Planned Parenthood swiftly sued in federal court, and a federal district court ordered that the state permanently restore the abortion provider’s funding.

The Supreme Court agreed Wednesday to wade into a years-old legal battle over South Carolina’s failed bid to cut Medicaid funding for Planned Parenthood. At issue is an executive order from South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster, a Republican, that he signed in 2018 that pulled funding for Planned Parenthood. The organization and one of its patients sued, asserting the order violated a federal law that allows Medicaid recipients to seek care from any qualified provider. The appeal puts abortion back on the docket two years after the court’s conservative majority...

Planned Parenthood is the top abortion provider in the United States, and has reported a 20% increase in abortions committed by its facilities over the past decade alone. At the same time, the corporation’s own reports reveal many of its actual health care services have been in decline, even as taxpayer funding to the abortion organization has skyrocketed to the highest amounts on record. In a recent op-ed published by the Wall Street Journal (WSJ), Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy indicated that defunding Planned Parenthood might be on their radar...

A young adult who received hormones and surgery to alter their gender is suing the providers allegedly responsible for aiding the transition. Christina Hineman was in high school when she began to question her gender identity, according to a press release from Independent Women’s Forum. The experience led Hineman to identify as a transgender man, take prescription testosterone and undergo a double mastectomy. Hineman, now 20, has since detransitioned and is suing the providers involved in the transition. The complaint alleges Hineman “had been betrayed by the lack of care...

A newly released video from the Center of Medical Progress (CMP) shows a shocking encounter with a Planned Parenthood abortionist who admits on camera that she is willing to commit several felonies in the buying and selling of fetal body parts. In the video, Dr. Stacy De-Lin, Planned Parenthood New York City Medical Director for Abortion Services, speaks with an undercover reporter for CMP, who is purportedly in the business of buying fetal body parts. In a tweet releasing the video, CMP lead investigator David Daleiden stated, “In new full...

While serving as California attorney general in 2016, Kamala Harris sent 11 California Department of Justice agents to raid the home of journalist and pro-life activist David Daleiden. Harris’ office seized Daleiden’s camera equipment and hard drives containing undercover videos allegedly exposing Planned Parenthood’s trafficking of aborted baby body parts. For eight years, much of Daleiden’s footage has been sealed and unseen until now.

Video footage captured in 2015 by an anti-abortion activist that was suppressed by then-California Attorney General Kamala Harris was released Thursday, revealing discussions among Planned Parenthood executives about the handling of body parts of fetuses aborted in the late second trimester, which activists have alleged amount to an admission of wrongdoing. The video was recorded by David Daleiden of the Center for Medical Progress, who, with a colleague in 2015, went undercover to the National Abortion Federation’s commercial trade show.
