Some academic institutions are finally facing a long-overdue reckoning after refusing to enforce the law (and their own policies) in the face of systemic abuses and lawlessness from pro-Hamas mobs.  Jewish students have been threatened, attacked, harassed, and even prevented from attending classes or walking freely on their own campuses.  Many of these episodes arguably or incontrovertibly constitute civil rights violations, on top of all the other chaos and dysfunction.

Last week, I dipped back into X just to see what I’d been missing on paternity leave. A post from Benny Johnson, a conservative activist with 3.4 million followers, caught my eye. Apparently, he had discovered ā€œthe biggest scandal in news media history.ā€

According to Johnson there was a ā€œcrisisā€ at Politico, the Washington-based news site: It was unable to meet payroll because it had been ā€œmassively fundedā€ by USAID, but DOGE had just ā€œdeletedā€ the cash. ā€œNow Politico will go out of business,ā€ Johnson wrote. ā€œThe corruption is endless. Good riddance.ā€

President-elect Donald Trump was allegedly given questions in advance of a 2024 town hall discussion on Fox News, according to a new book from Politico reporter Alex Isenstadt.

The questions in question were sent from ā€œa person insideā€ Fox News to a ā€œsenior Trump aideā€ a half hour before the town hall — which took place in Iowa in January 2024 and was moderated by Fox News anchors Martha MacCallum and Bret Baier — according to Isenstadt.

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump’s campaign said Saturday that it had been hacked and blamed Iran for breaking into its data, days after Microsoft revealed the terror-backing nation has been ramping up online activity in an attempt to influence the US election.

Trump spokesman Steven Cheung made the announcement following report from Politico that said the outlet had received anonymous emails that included documents from inside Trump’s campaign operation.

WASHINGTON — Utah's four Republican representatives were split over a vote on Friday to reauthorize and reform a key U.S. surveillance tool after what Rep. John Curtis called a "gnarly" debate between House colleagues. The Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act outlines how U.S. officials can gather foreign intelligence. Congress has been focused on Section 702, which gives the government power to surveil electronic communications of noncitizens abroad without warrants.

Gasoline prices are on the rise again, the pain of which is felt not just at the pump but in the purchase of every good that relies on the combustion engine to make its way to your doorstep. The cascading effect of higher gas prices has the Biden administration and its Democratic allies nervous. At least, that’s what trained eyes can detect from the subtle cues voters are receiving from the press. Take, for example, Politico’s latest attempt to defuse this political time bomb:
