A recall of Boar’s Head products has expanded to include a whopping 7 million additional pounds of deli and poultry items in a deadly multistate outbreak of listeria infections.

As of Tuesday, 34 people have gotten sick across 13 states in the outbreak — including 33 hospitalizations and two deaths. The fatalities were a patient in Illinois and another in New Jersey.

Last week, the deli meat company had recalled more than 207,000 pounds of deli meat, including liverwurst and ham products, because they may contain the bacteria Listeria monocytogenes.

More than 6 million cars on United States roads have a dangerous, potentially deadly, piece of equipment inside.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) recalled Takata airbags nationwide in 2014 because of the risk they pose for bodily harm and potential death. Ten years later, around 6.4 million people are driving cars that still have them, according to research from Carfax.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is investigating whether Tesla did enough to improve driver safety after recalling roughly 2 million vehicles to fix a software defect in their autopilot monitoring system.

Why it matters: This is just the latest hurdle Tesla has faced over safety concerns related to its autopilot software. NHTSA has been investigating the company's autopilot system and crashes for years.

Driving the news: The original recall, issued last December, covered almost all of the cars Tesla had sold in the U.S. at the time.

Millions of bags of laundry pods are being recalled because the packages aren't child resistant and could pose a serious risk, a federal safety regulatory agency warned Friday. 

The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) warning covers 8.4 million Proctor and Gamble Tide Pods, Gain Flings, Ace Pods and Ariel Pods liquid laundry detergent packets packaged in flexible film bags that were distributed in the United States.

The U.S. CDC on Friday issued a health alert to inform clinicians, state health departments and the public of a case of avian influenza in a person who had contact with dairy cows presumed to be infected with the virus.

The farm worker from Texas was reported to be infected on April 1, making it the second case of the H5N1 strain of avian influenza, commonly known as bird flu, identified in a person in the United States.

It follows a 2022 case in Colorado, and comes as the virus is spreading to new mammals, including dairy cattle for the first time.

Nearly 670 pounds of raw meat products are being recalled due to concerns they may contain a potentially life-threatening allergen.

M&P Production LTD, a Brooklyn, New York based company, this week ordered back two raw lamb and beef samsa products due to the misbranding of an undeclared allergen, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) said in an alert.

The two products being recalled contain sesame seeds, a known allergen, but the ingredient was not declared on the product labels, the USDA said in its alert. 

Tesla is recalling nearly all of the electric vehicles it has sold in the U.S. over problems with warning lights, its biggest recall to date and the latest in a series of setbacks for the automaker.

“Warning lights with a smaller font size can make critical safety information on the instrument panel difficult to read, increasing the risk of a crash,” the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said.

The company voluntarily recalled eight lots of Robitussin Honey CF Max Day Adult and Robitussin Honey CF Max Nighttime Adult cough syrups over microbial contamination, according to an announcement from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
