The United States Constitution offers Americans “a way to address common problems across lines of difference,” said Yuval Levin, director of Social, Cultural, and Constitutional Studies at the American Enterprise Institute.

“It gives us different mechanisms and institutions for dealing with each other when we disagree, and therefore for turning difference and disagreement into something constructive,” added Levin, a former George W. Bush administration official.

A Republican House member introduced a resolution Thursday to amend the U.S. Constitution in order to allow President Donald Trump — and any other future president — to be elected to a third term in the White House.

A post shared on X claims that the U.S. Constitution forbids having a president and vice president hail from the same state.

The post is a misinterpretation of the 12th Amendment. The 12th Amendment only prevents Electoral College electors from voting for a president and vice president who are both from the state they reside in.

Senator Eric Schmitt (R., Mo.) on Monday became the first member of the upper chamber of Congress to call on Vice President Kamala Harris and current cabinet officials to invoke the 25th Amendment and remove President Joe Biden from office after his Sunday announcement that he will not run for re-election.

“If President Biden is willing to admit he is unable to continue to stand as the Democratic Party nominee for President after the primary process due to his health, he is unable to continue to serve as President until January 20, 2025,” Schmitt wrote.

House Republicans are calling on President Biden to resign from office after he announced that he would no longer seek reelection, arguing that he should not continue to serve in the White House if he is unable to run for another term.

The comments — several of which were from House GOP leadership — came shortly after Biden said he was withdrawing from the 2024 presidential race, a seismic announcement that rocked the political world and left the path forward for Democrats uncertain.

As Heritage Foundation President Kevin Roberts said Monday, the Left’s inflammatory attacks on Project 2025 show that it’s “right over the target.” President Joe Biden’s reelection campaign is so desperate to defeat Project 2025 that it spreads direct falsehoods about it, perhaps not expecting the American people to actually examine what the project comprises.

The Biden campaign launched a special website dedicated to attacking Project 2025, and posted totally baseless claims about the initiative.

The Supreme Court’s decision in City of Grants Pass, Oregon v. Johnson will save lives by allowing local governments and law enforcement agencies to determine how best to respond to homelessness in their own communities. In many cases, that will mean intervening in homeless encampments that are dangerous both to the people living in them and nearby communities.

On Friday, the United States Supreme Court found that it is constitutional to jail people simply because they are homeless. Their decision, in City of Grants Pass v. Johnson, clears the way for cities across the country to treat unhoused people cruelly because they cannot afford a place to stay.
