A helicopter is being used to dump water on a wildfire which has spread over a large area of forest in Galloway, in the south west of Scotland. Emergency services were alerted to the fire at Glen Trool at about 23:50 on Friday with two Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) crews carrying out water bombing in the area. Firefighters were still battling a 100-acre wildfire Saturday evening burning in the Wharton State Forest in Camden County, according to a statement posted on social media. According to the New Jersey Forest Fire Service, there was zero containment of the “California Branch Wildfire” as of 5 p.m., where 18 structures were under threat.
