SEOUL, South Korea — At least two firefighters have been killed in a wildfire in South Korea and more than 200 residents in 15 southern villages have been told to evacuate, authorities said on Saturday.

The fire, which began in Sancheong county on Friday afternoon, prompted the deployment of 304 personnel, along with 20 helicopters, according to South Korea's Interior Ministry.

Several wildfires are burning across Florida on Friday, with red flag warnings in place for a number of counties. The blazes have forced a number of road closures across the state this week, including the US-1's 18-Mile Stretch on Thursday, which hampered connection between the mainland and Florida Keys. Florida's wildfire season runs year-round, but peaks from late spring through summer. Current dry conditions and gusty winds have increased the threat of...

The National Weather Service on Thursday night issued a third fire alert for South Florida this week as a sprawling brush fire in south Miami-Dade County has consumed more than 24,000 acres. Forecasters are once again cautioning residents that more blazes may occur and quickly proliferate. The newest alert, a fire weather watch, will take effect Friday morning through the evening for Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties. The fire weather watch differs from the two red flag warnings that took effect Monday and Thursday. The watch is a step...

As of the most recent data from the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS), 745 fires have ignited across the...

Intense winds swept across Texas during the weekend, with gusts nearing 100 mph in some areas. The dry and windy conditions fueled multiple fires, allowing small blazes to expand and spread quickly. According to the National Weather Service, the threat persists, as a red flag warning has been issued for much of the state from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Monday due to strong winds, low humidity, and dry vegetation. Some parts of west-central Texas, including San Angelo, are under a fire weather watch Tuesday. Here's what we know...
