A video surfaced this week that appears to show the mother of Tara Reade, the former staffer who has accused former Vice President and current presidential candidate Joe Biden of sexual assault, calling in to an episode of Larry King Live in 1993 to ask for advice about her daughter's situation. The clip, which aired on CNN around the time of the allegations, features Reade's mother asking what "a staffer would do besides go to the press in Washington" while alluding to "problems" her daughter had with a prominent senator.

Outlets on both the left and right have covered the video -- first reported by The Intercept and later by CNN -- and the ensuing reactions. Many framed it as the latest piece of evidence in Reade's allegations against Biden, which have dogged the presumptive Democratic nominee since becoming public last month.

A NEW PIECE of evidence has emerged buttressing the credibility of Tara Reade’s claim that she told her mother about allegations of sexual harassment and assault related to her former boss, then-Sen. Joe Biden. Biden, through a spokesperson, has denied the allegations. Reade has claimed to various media outlets, including The Intercept, that she told her mother, a close friend, and her brother about both the harassment and, to varying degrees of detail, the assault at the time.

Republicans are ripping into Democrats and media outlets for what they allege is silence over the latest development in the sexual assault allegation against presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden -- after video emerged that appears to show accuser Tara Reade’s mother referring to the alleged assault on TV in 1993.

ā€œJoe Biden isn’t sheltering in place in his basement bunker because of the pandemic, he’s hiding from Tara Reade,ā€ Donald Trump Jr. tweeted Friday.

(CNN)Newly surfaced video from 1993 appears to feature the mother of Tara Reade, a woman who accused presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden of sexual assault, calling into a cable TV show to seek advice around the time of the alleged assault.

In a "Larry King Live" segment that aired on August 11, 1993, on CNN, an unnamed woman calls in to the show with her location identified on the screen as San Luis Obispo, California. The show was about the cutthroat nature of Washington, DC, politics and media.
