The "red wave" predicted by many in the 2022 midterm elections has yet to materialize, as Democrats flipped a key Senate seat and many other races remain too close to call.

Senate Races: Democrat John Fetterman is projected to beat Republican Mehmet Oz to fill Pennsylvania's vacant Senate seat, an important win for Democrats as they seek to maintain their Senate majority. The competitive contest in Georgia between incumbent Raphael Warnock (D) and Herschel Walker (R) is heading to a runoff, since neither candidate won 50% of the vote. In Wisconsin, incumbent Ron Johnson (R) is projected to beat challenger Mandela Barnes (D). it's too early to call other key Senate contests in Arizona and Nevada, and it may be several days before results are clear.

House Races: Control of the House of Representatives also remains unclear, but Republicans are expected to emerge with a majority. In Virginia, incumbent Democrat Rep. Elaine Luria, a member of the House Jan. 6 committee, is projected to lose to Republican challenger Jen Kiggans. In Texas, Republican Rep. Mayra Flores, who recently won a special election, is projected to lose to Democratic Rep. Vicente Gonzalez.

Gubernatorial Races: In battleground states, Democrats won governors’ races in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania, and Republicans won governors’ races in Florida, Texas, and Georgia.
