Voters in Georgia will head to the polls Tuesday to decide the runoff Senate election between incumbent Sen. Raphael Warnock (D) and Republican challenger Herschel Walker.

And I think the challenge for Republicans is you can’t make the argument that control of the Senate is up for grabs,” said Andra Gillespie, a political science professor at Emory University.

For Context: The Dec. runoff was set after neither candidate gained 50% of the vote in November.  According to a recent survey by Emory College Polling and The Hill, Warnock holds a narrow lead of 2% over Walker. The deciding factor in the race, according to some experts, may be how well both campaigns turn out voters in reliably blue and red counties. There has already been record turnout in early voting, with turnout on Friday breaking a record set just days earlier.

How the Media Covered It: Panelists on ABC, CNN, and NBC, as well as other analysts from left-rated news outlets, are predicting a Warnock victory, saying that Republican voters lack motivation since control of the Senate is no longer in question.
