May 9—The National Weather Service is issuing a warning of the potential for severe thunderstorms and possible flash flooding affecting Hawaii by this weekend. Forecasters say "an unusually strong upper-level disturbance is expected to approach the islands later Friday into Saturday, bringing the possiblity of very active weather to portions of the Aloha State." The forecasters say the latest guidance indicates a possiblity for severe thunderstorms, with damaging winds, large hail, intense rainfall and flash flooding.

Severe storms are threatening the Nashville area throughout the day Wednesday, with damaging winds, hail, tornadoes and flooding all possible late into the evening, according to the National Weather Service. Threat level: The Middle Tennessee area is designated as a three out of five — an enhanced risk for severe weather, according to the NWS. • Nashville Severe Weather reports Wednesday will have a 10% chance of a tornado, including a low probability of a strong tornado, within 25 miles of you no matter where you are in Middle Tennessee....

A report was issued from the National Weather Service on Monday at 1:56 p.m. for strong thunderstorms until 2:30 p.m. for Foothills of the Northern Blue Mountains of Oregon. The storms are expected to bring pea-sized hail (0.25 inches). "At 1:56 p.m., Doppler radar tracked a strong thunderstorm near Pendleton, moving northeast at 20 mph," states the weather service. "Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible." Locations impacted by the alert include Pendleton, Adams, Cayuse, Mission and northwestern Umatilla Reservation.

The National Weather Service in Nashville said Monday afternoon that radar was showing a tornado moving across eastern Wilson County, north of Highway 70. Reports of the storm began coming in at about 3 p.m. Hail measuring up to 1 inch with winds reaching up to 60 miles per hour are expected as the storm continues to move through Middle Tennessee. A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for Williamson, Rutherford and Wilson County until 4:15 p.m. and in Maury County until 4:45 p.m. Monday. The weather service said there...
