Indiana will ban food stamps from paying for soda and candy, joining West Virginia and Arkansas as states at the forefront of President Trump’s Make America Healthy Again agenda.

Indiana Gov. Mike Braun on Tuesday ordered that sugary drinks and treats be removed from the taxpayer-funded Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP, which is commonly called food stamps.

Three GOP-led states are moving to strip unhealthy items from their food stamp programs that help low-income Americans afford groceries.

Arkansas became the first state Tuesday to submit a waiver to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) asking for permission to change its Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) to ban soda and candy.

US Health Secretary Robert F Kennedy Jr has pledged "a massive testing and research effort" to determine the cause of autism in five months.

Experts cautioned that finding the causes of autism spectrum disorder – a complex syndrome that has been studied for decades – will not be straightforward, and called the effort misguided and unrealistic.

A top federal health official ousted by the Trump administration denounced Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s claim that he would be able to determine the cause of autism by September, warning against offering "false hope" to families.

"There are people, probably, who are hearing me now who know that I cared for leukemia patients for a significant number of years. Giving people false hope is something you should never do," said Dr. Peter Marks, in an interview Friday with "Face the Nation with Margaret Brennan."

A former ethics professor at a taxpayer funded community college in Minnesota is suing Governor Tim Walz after he was fired for refusing to comply with the state's Covid-19 vaccine mandate for government employees and expressing his opinions on the matter to his students.

Professor Russell Stewart filed a complaint in federal court Wednesday against Walz and the leadership at Lake Superior College over his March 2022 termination for non-compliance with the Covid-19 vaccine mandate and a September 2021 email he sent to students explaining his position, National Review has learned.

Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. kicked off his ā€œMake America Healthy Againā€ tour in Utah to discuss the state’s fluoride ban.

Utah Gov. Spencer Cox signed legislation Thursday barring cities and communities from adding the mineral to their water systems. The ban goes into effect May 7.

Dr. Peter Marks, the top vaccine official at the Food and Drug Administration, wrote in a letter on Friday that he was resigning from his position and criticized Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who has questioned the effectiveness of vaccines for years and promoted debunked claims that certain vaccines are linked to autism.

Beef tallow has become the latest health obsession, with the support of Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

Kennedy has been a staunch proponent of fringe health ideas, from using Vitamin A to treat measles to drinking raw milk and using tallow for frying instead of seed oils.
