Federal agents raided the homes of Sean “Diddy” Combs in Miami and Los Angeles on Monday, following allegations of sex trafficking and sexual misconduct against the hip-hop mogul.

The Details: Reports suggested Diddy might have fled to Antigua on a private jet. However, the Prime Minister of Antigua, Gaston Browne, said Combs hadn't arrived on any known flight to the island. New footage showed Combs being detained and questioned, although he remained at liberty as of Monday evening.

For Context: In December 2023, a woman identified as Jane Doe lodged a complaint against Combs, claiming she was sex trafficked and gang-raped in 2003 when she was 17 and in the 11th grade. She accuses Combs, former Bad Boy Entertainment president Harve Pierre, and a third unnamed defendant, of the crimes.

How the Media Covered It: Coverage was widespread in mainstream outlets across the spectrum, covering a wide range of angles: the raid, the inquiry, the accusations, and connections to other celebrities. News coverage did not appear to display a partisan political angle. This summary was developed with the help of AllSides' AI technology.

Department of Homeland Security personnel raided the residences of rap mogul Sean Combs amid a plethora of allegations of sex trafficking and other offenses.

Raids were carried out in properties belonging to Combs, known professionally as Diddy, in Miami and Los Angeles. The raids were carried out on a warrant from New York, according to the Department of Homeland Security.

Over the last few months, a legendary name in the music world has faced a series of shocking allegations of sexual abuse.

In civil lawsuits, four women have accused Sean “Diddy” Combs of rape, assault and a litany of other abuses, dating back three decades. One of the allegations involved a minor. The claims sent shock waves through the music industry and put Combs’ entertainment empire in jeopardy.

Now, the hip-hop mogul’s legal troubles have worsened considerably.

Hip-hop mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs, 54, has not landed in the Caribbean island of Antigua despite reports he could have arrived there aboard a private jet, the island's Prime Minister Gaston Browne told Newsweek.

"There is no credible information that he is here. To the contrary, he did not arrive on the flight yesterday to Antigua," Browne said in a message.
