A letter obtained by several news outlets says that Hunter Biden is planning to sue Fox News (Right bias) for defamation “imminently.”
Biden’s Demands: Hunter’s lawyers accuse Fox of illegally using “intimate” photos of him without his permission, therefore illegally exploiting them for financial gain. They also have requested Fox take down the six-part special program, “The Trial of Hunter Biden,” which plays out as a mock trial of Hunter’s foreign business dealings. Additionally, they’ve requested Fox update viewers and add editor’s notes to all online articles about the indictment of Alexander Smirnov, a former informant who in February was charged with lying to the FBI about Hunter's business dealings.
More Details: According to Axios (Lean Left bias) Hunter’s lawyers requested a response from Fox by April 26, but did not receive one. As of early April 30, Fox News has not commented on the suit.
Key Quote: Hunter’s attorney Mark Geragos said in a statement, “For the last five years, Fox News has relentlessly attacked Hunter Biden and made him a caricature in order to boost ratings and for its financial gain. The recent indictment of FBI informant Smirnov has exposed the conspiracy of disinformation that has been fueled by Fox, enabled by their paid agents and monetized by the Fox enterprise. We plan on holding them accountable.”
How The Media Covered It: Several media outlets reported seeing a copy of the letter from Hunter’s attorneys to Fox. Axios claimed it was sent the letter last week.
