Police identified the person who died in a Sunday morning Harford County party bus crash as Alexis Nicole Kegler, a 30-year-old from Philadelphia. Kegler died after a bus hit a highway guardrail around 6 a.m., sending 23 people to the hospital, according to fire and police officials. She was a tech support analyst at Verizon and had studied computer science and network security at Temple University in Philadelphia, according to a LinkedIn profile. A Panera Bread spokesperson says the restaurant chain is phasing out its Charged Lemonade, a highly caffeinated beverage that has been blamed for at least two deaths in lawsuits. The beverages prompted controversy in October when the family of 21-year-old Sarah Katz, a University of Pennsylvania student with a heart condition who died after consuming Charged Lemonade, filed a lawsuit. A second lawsuit was filed in December by the family of Dennis Brown, a Florida man with a chromosomal deficiency disorder and a developmental delay who also died after drinking...

Training camp was set to start in three days. Anderson, who had signed with New England as a free agent in the spring, was supposed to help shore up the offensive tackle position. In 72 hours, he was expected to be on the practice field, going through drills in Foxborough. The words rang in SherĆ©e Lanihun-Anderson’s ears. Those were the odds the doctors gave her husband, Patriots offensive lineman Calvin Anderson, of survival. Instead, Anderson was laid out in the emergency room at Newton-Wellesley Hospital with a 105-degree fever and...

The music scene in Athens has been the subject of countless books, documentaries and podcasts over the decades, but a new radio program aims to spotlight a few of the people and places that are keeping that rich legacy alive and thriving. "Sense of Place," a NPR show that travels throughout the world exploring hotbeds of musical creativity, will on Wednesday begin airing an eight-part interview series about Athens. Back in March, NPR host Raina Douris, "World Café" senior producer Kimberly Junod and producer Miguel Perez traveled to Athens from...

President Joe Biden received the formal endorsement of more than a dozen members of the extended Kennedy family on Thursday, aiming to harness the legacy of a storied Democratic family while implicitly underscoring their near-universal rejection of a third-party challenge mounted by one of their own, Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

The broader Kennedy family has mostly shunned RFK Jr.’s campaign, calling it ā€œdangerous,ā€ even as the candidate himself looks to capitalize on his last name and family history.

Capping off a three-day tour of the state, Joe Biden made his appearance at the Martin Luther King Recreation Center in North Philly, where he accepted the endorsement of the Kennedy family at large.

The support from the Kennedys is an apparent effort to blunt the impact of Robert Kennedy Jr.’s third-party candidacy. The Biden campaign is likely concerned that Kennedy Jr. will peel off support, which will benefit Donald Trump.

Members of the iconic Kennedy family, a longtime staple in American politics, announced a major endorsement in the 2024 presidential race on Thursday — a move that came as a snub to one of their own seeking the White House.

Half a dozen Kennedy family members appeared alongside President Biden at an event in Philadelphia to publicly back him over Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., who is driving Democrats to panic that his independent White House bid could lead to a victory for former President Donald Trump.

DALLAS — The season is almost over, and the Detroit Pistons managed to add at least one more win to their total. A night after losing at home to the Chicago Bulls by 22 points, they rebounded to defeat the Dallas Mavericks, 107-89. Marcus Sasser, a Dallas native, finished with 24 points and scored 22 in the second half. Chimezie Metu added 18 points and eight rebounds, knocking down a career-high four 3-pointers. It was an even performance from start-to-finish. Detroit committed just six turnovers as the Mavericks committed 20....
