In a video posted on Vice President Kamala Harris' YouTube channel and social media accounts, Barack and Michelle Obama called Harris to endorse her presidential campaign. 

For Context: While the Obamas were expected to endorse her, they were later than other major Democrats to do so, lending crucial support to her campaign. She has already been endorsed by former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries, House Minority Whip Jim Clyburn, former President Bill Clinton, and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

How the Media Covered It: While the story was covered similarly across the spectrum, the Associated Press (Lean Left) highlighted the "friendship and potentially historic link between the nation’s first Black president and the first woman, first Black woman and first person of Asian descent to serve as vice president, who is now vying to break those same barriers at the presidential rank." Fox News (Right) emphasized that the endorsement took days longer than others.
