Barack Obama has shared a candid revelation about his marriage to Michelle Obama.

The former US president opened up about the state of his relationship to Michelle while “speaking publicly” for “the first time in a while” during a talk at Hamilton College on Thursday (3 April).

Michelle Obama is done with President-elect Trump, if her decision to skip next week’s inauguration means anything. 

The former first lady, who once called on Democrats to go high when Trump’s Republican Party goes low, will not be going to the Capitol to watch Trump take the presidential oath for a second time, leaving her husband, former President Obama, to go it alone.

The announcement came as big-name Democrats have coalesced around Harris as their new choice to take on former President Donald Trump in the 2024 election. President Biden endorsed Harris this past Sunday, the same day he announced he would no longer run for a second term – but until Friday, the Obamas had kept quiet.

Don’t count on former first lady Michelle Obama to ride to Democrats’ rescue.

The 60-year-old’s office closed the door hard on any potential run for the White House on Tuesday in a bid to squelch persistent speculation and wishcasting about her usurping the Democratic nomination from President Biden.

“As former first lady Michelle Obama has expressed several times over the years, she will not be running for president,” communications director Crystal Carson told NBC News.

Michelle Obama says fears about the 2024 White House race keep her up at night.

“I am terrified about what could possibly happen,” Obama said of this year’s presidential election in an interview on Jay Shetty’s “On Purpose” podcast, released Monday.

“Because our leaders matter. Who we select, who speaks for us, who holds that bully pulpit — it affects us in ways that sometimes I think people take for granted,” the former first lady said when asked to name some of her biggest fears keeping her awake.

A May 9 Instagram video shows a woman speaking alongside a screenshot of an article published by the conservative outlet the Western Journal.

"The Democratic Party Just Confirmed Michelle Obama Will Be Its Nominee and Nobody Noticed," reads the article's headline.

"This is exactly what we were thinking was going to happen," says the woman in the video.

Michelle Obama broke down shortly after leaving then-President Donald Trump’s inauguration, the former first lady candidly shared in a new podcast, as the emotions of leaving their family’s home after eight years and resentment over Trump taking office overwhelmed her.

“When those doors shut, I cried for 30 minutes straight, uncontrollable sobbing, because that’s how much we were holding it together for eight years,” Obama said, referring to her final trip aboard the presidential airplane.

Michelle Obama is not endorsing President Joe Biden for the 2024 presidential election, at least not right now.

When the former first lady was asked if she would support her husband's former running mate for reelection, she declined to say while speaking with Robin Roberts on ABC News's 20/20.
