Vice President JD Vance backed President Donald Trumpā€˜s opening moves in his first interview since being sworn in.

In an interview with CBS News’s Face the Nation, Vance clashed with host Margaret Brennan over issues such as immigration and recent moves by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops.

Here are five takeaways from the interview:

The Santiago BernabƩu Stadium in Spain will host a thrilling UEFA Champions League semi-final second-leg match on Wednesday, featuring a clash between two of European soccer's giants: Real Madrid and Bayern Munich. With the teams deadlocked at 2-2 after the clash at the Allianz Arena in Munich, history suggests that the game is poised to be a thriller at Madrid. The road to the semifinal has been marked by intense preparation and tactical recalibrations. For Bayern Munich, the mission is clear. Despite a disappointing domestic season, their Champions League campaign...

Gregory Peck’s moral convictions defined the type of roles he wanted to play on screen. What irony that Gregory Peck’s greatest onscreen success was as a character who experienced failure. Alabama lawyer Atticus Finch, defending an innocent black man in ā€œTo Kill a Mockingbirdā€ (1962), loses his case. Still, Peck’s defeat becomes a victory, not only because he profits from a winning novel and screenplay, but also because he’s the one playing Finch. When audiences stumbled out of darkened cinema halls in 1962, Finch to them was no longer just...

Authorities with the Osage County Sheriff's Office announced the tornado-related death shortly after a massive twister struck Barnsdall late on Monday, May 6, according to FOX affiliate KOKI-TV and NBC News . This is the second time Barnsdall has been hit by a tornado in the last five weeks, CNN reported. An EF-1 twister hit the town on April 1. The storm this week then moved into...

Kristi Noem owes South Dakotans an explanation for the embarrassment she’s caused herself and the state. The Republican governor has not yet told us how or why she included a false story in her forthcoming book about meeting North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. Margaret Brennan of ā€œFace the Nationā€ pressed Noem for an answer Sunday on CBS. Noem replied, ā€œThis anecdote shouldn’t have been in the book, and as soon as it was brought to my attention, I made sure that that was adjusted.ā€ So Noem would have us...
